OK, Really.... What IS Groundhog Day? I don't know about you, but when I think of Groundhog Day my mind quickly jumps to thoughts of a time-loop of my day happening over and over and over again. Alright, STOP! Ugh! That's almost as bad as listening to kids playing that game where they copy what you say.
Annoying! I won't torture you! ;) But what is Groundhog Day without mentioning the same scenario made famous in the 1993 film staring Bill Murray ?
So let's answer that question. Groundhog day is celebrated in both the United States and Canada on February 2.
"It derives from the Pennsylvania Dutch superstition that if a groundhog emerging from its burrow on this day sees a shadow due to clear weather, it will retreat back into its den and winter will persist for six more weeks, and if he does not, due to cloudiness, spring season will arrive early." - Wikipedia
Please don't see your shadow, Please don't see your shadow, Please don't see your shadow! (hahaha)
(Can you tell I'm not a winter fan?) Come on little fella! Bring on Spring!!
Ah, yes! Spring.... that beautiful season where the weather is warming, the flowers are blooming and all is new in the world again.
